Hi, My name is Ron Cross and I am currently looking for a new career. Over the past 10 years I have been in sales in the Financial Services industry, and 03/10/2009 was my last official day with my prior employer. It has been a slow process because of the sector that I work in but, this week I have had some success with landing interviews. I have seen my momentum increase tenfold over the last couple of weeks and I have found that I am best served to have a plan that goes far beyond using the traditional job search methods. I have an aggressive strategy that I use to get an interview and once I am there, well let's just say it's time to show and prove. Today I have an interview and I plan to demonstrate how my core skill set can and will benefit the company and that I am confident that I can hit the ground running.

There is also psychological aspect of being unemployed; especially for the head of a household. There are days that pass by where I feel unproductive and I find myself doing, planning, and thinking about every possible chore to get that sense of productivity. I make sure that I stay in contact with my former colleagues in order to stay grounded and also to provide and give encouragement to them as well.

At the end of the day I feel positive, upbeat, and encouraged for a number reasons. I think this is a chance to reinvent myself and sharpen my skill set so that when I re-enter the work force I will have a renewed focus; and I know I will be better than before. I also know that this too shall pass and the lessons that I am learning now I will be able to draw on and also impart them to family and friends. I have taken this time to get more involved in my community and in a sense become a well rounded or more "complete" individual if you will. I would like to thank everyone for all the words of encouragement thus and wish me luck on my interview.
