Getting in gear
For four months, I attended a twice-weekly rec center exercise class, led by a supportive, incredibly positive instructor I really liked.
I felt stronger. Calmer. More energetic.
So naturally, I dropped out of the course. Sigh.
Of course, this wasn't meant to be my return to couch-potato life. Life, as it tends to do (especially as a working mom to two young children), just got so crazy. I missed a class here, a class there, and started wondering if I should just try something different.
My plan was to pursue the following in place of my class:
Brisk walks
Stretching exercises learned from class
Working with free weights
Stopping at the "Y" right by the daycare for a workout before picking up my little bears
After about three weeks ... you guessed it... nada.
I'm determined to get back in the game. I started this weekend by throwing some money at the problem with the purchase of a jogging stroller. Now, I don't have to have someone watching both kids, since I can bring one along for the ride.
I'm also making a public declaration with this post. If I've still not been working out on my own by next Monday, I'll re-up with my old rec class. I'm getting back to being active, one way or another.

Way to go! Making an investment in something always makes me try harder! I don't want to waste my money! That's why Boot Camp has kept me getting up every morning at 4:45a - I had to fork over some cash for the pleasure of killing myself at the crack of dawn - always a motivator! Good Luck - I know you can do it!

Hang in there sister! And boy do I relate! I keep leaning toward joining a nearby gym - but knowing my history of paying for something I don't use is keeping me from it. So I decided (last night in fact) to invest in a new pair of (really cute and functional) tennis shoes! I figure that's a safer bet than a whole gym membership. I want to try to start WALKING. Just WALKING! So, I'm with ya!
