Adventure Boot Camp, Day 5 - I'm hurtin'

jbsm.JPGJust when I thought I was done with soreness in my legs and glutes......it returns! Yesterday was all lower body and while I think I did better yesterday, clearly I have a long way to go. Sore is good - it means I'm strengthening my body.....but it does hurt. I walk slow and sitting is a whip, but hey....I'm doin' it!

Today was fun and different. We did an agility course shaped like a baseball diamond , where we did high step knees through about 6 rings, weaved through cones, hopscotched through rings sprinted and then arrived at what one boot camper called the "surprise cones"....about 13 cones with different exercises under them that we had to do in between running the agility course. We did jumping jacks, military presses, bench presses, dips, wall sits, mountain climb (I hate that one), bicycle crunches, push-ups, flyes, running from 50 yard line to goal....AND MORE!!

But, that's not it!! Then we did various crunches, superman and planks - which all kill me. I'm not just getting a burn....I'm getting pain!

As I watched everyone else bend at the waist easily, I hoped that I can one day soon do that without my back hurting. I'm 38 and if I don't get control of my back situation now, I am so in for it when I get older. Have to, have to fix this back thing.

I also found myself wondering....what's next? When I finish this 4-week course, I may take it again, but then what? I worry that I will fall back into my lazy ineffective ways and lose all the success I plan to have. I need a plan. Stay tuned.
