Adventure Boot Camp, Day 2
Moving and bending have become quite challenging....I am so sore! I woke up not feeling too sore, but after the second session...forget it, I can't move!!
Today was totally different than yesterday, but was equally hard. Started with a 1/2 mile warm-up and then did several combos of calisthenics that nearly killed me, then we did walking sidesquats from 0 to 25 yard line on the football field several times, then we ran relays. Basically a lot of stuff without stops. It is awesome, but I wish I had a stronger core and back. Definitely my back and my abs are my weakest and my biggest challenge. When we did old-fashioned sit-ups (where a friend holds your feet and you come all the way up to your knees), I did two....and stopped. I couldn't sit up at all --my back hurt and it is so weak. My partner however whipped out 25 without grimacing.....I felt really out of shape at that point.
We also did a lot of upper body weight work. I'm really glad I decided on 5 lb weights instead of the 8 lb weights I thought I could handle. Now, I am thinking I need 2 lbs.
And, I know I shouldn't do this yet, but I stepped on the scale and I am a 1/2 lb heavier than yesterday....must be all the water I consumed! DANG!
So, now I have the weekend off...Monday we are back on at 5:30a. I think I will practice crunches and some of the moves I couldn't do today....maybe a 2 mile run just to work the pain out of my muscles. I'll update you on Monday.
Pain scale 1-10: 0 when not moving, 10 when moving
Stress scale 1-10: zero
