Jennifer Aniston might be coming to Texas to work. She's signed on to produce and possibly star in a period musical about singing prisoners.
"Goree Girls" revolves around eight women at Texas' Goree Prison during the 1940s who formed one of the first all-female country and western acts in the country and captured the hearts of millions of fans in the process. The project is set up at DreamWorks, which is looking for a director.
Aniston and her producing partner Kristin Hahn optioned Skip Hollandsworth's May 2003 article in Texas Monthly titled "O Sister Where Art Thou," which recounted the story of the women, who eventually were pardoned. (AP)
