Ouch!

jackie.jpg I hope you all had a nice weekend.

Mine was a little crazy.

On Sunday, I was sitting outside enjoying our lovely weather and reading (one of my favorite pastimes). I was deeply engrossed in my book, which happens to be about ghosts!

Suddenly, something flew by my face. Without thinking I reached up, while still reading, I swatted the flying object away from my face.

Not a good idea. That’s when it attached itself to my ring finger, and stung me.

Boy! That got my attention!

I dropped the book and jumped out of the chair. The pain was instant and severe, and it just kept getting worse. I ran into the house calling for help, no immediate help came from my kids, so I sat down on the floor holding my hand and my angry red finger.

Eventually the pain subsided and the swelling went away.

My kids ultimately came to my rescue, one offered me a Band-Aid and the other offered an ice pack.

It was my first wasp sting, so I had no idea how I would react. I did a little research and learned that I was stung by a paper wasp, which is painful (don’t I know it) and can be fatal.

Fortunately for me, it was just painful!

I also learned from a viewer that if you immerse your finger in vinegar right after being stung it will take the pain away!

Now I know and you do too!
