So... did ya see it? 6:30 am Valentine's Day - one of News 8's reporters was doing a live shot about a truck accident that was tying up traffic in downtown Dallas. And suddenly, a goofy looking cupid on a cell phone jumps into her live shot and says "Happy Valentine's Day" and hands her a rose. The reporter never missed a beat - kept talking about her story, simultaneously elbowing the Ambush Cupid out of the shot. Her photographer didn't see it coming, either. There was never any mention of it on the air, and the station declined to talk about it publically. Here's what we've learned, though.... Apparently, the whole thing was orchestrated by a local radio station as a publicity stunt. Can we just say... that is NOT cool? Not cool at all. The reporter was rattled by the whole thing, and those of us who saw the thing on TV were worried for the reporter's safety. Thank goodness it was just a prank, but again - NOT COOL. I'm thinking that gal will be packin' something from now on.
