Houston police are investigating the aggravated assault of an on-duty Houston police officer.
On Thursday night, HPD's Narcotics Division responded to a call regarding a possible drug transaction at 15615 Eastex Freeway. Parked at the back of the location, they say they spotted several suspects inside their vehicles.

HOUSTON--The suspect in a string of arson fires in southwest Houston appeared in court on Thursday.
John Leonard Morin is facing a misdemeanor charge of making a false fire report in connection with one of the fires.
Police say Morin is a suspect in the other fires, but no charges have been filed.
