An alleged robbery suspect is recovering after being shot during a chase, police said. The Brazoria County Sheriff's deputies say that they began chasing the robbery suspect just after 1 a.m. Thursday. They said that officers with the West Columbia police department stopped the suspect on SH 35 south of the Bar-X Ranch when the suspect rammed a patrol unit tried to flee again. It was then, police say, that an officer shot and hit the suspect. He was taken to an area hospital and is in stable condition, police say. |
