Further investigation revealed that someone had removed the check from the mail box and changed the payee name to "Nicole C. Sanchez".

On August 14, a young white or Hispanic female cashed the check at the Chase Bank in the 18000 block of FM 529 near the intersection of FM 529 and Barker-Cypress in west Harris County. She was captured on the bank's surveillance camera, cashing the forged check.
