Patients who are battling cancer at M.D. Anderson's famed cancer center, have a new fight on their hands. Now they have to battle identity thieves. Investigators said a clerk at the cancer center accessed patients' files and then applied for loans online using that information. A Houston cancer patient alerted authorities to the thefts after getting a call from a New Jersey bank about a $10,000 loan. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |
I received a notice from MdAnderson this week, informing me that my personal records were accessed. I received radiation for breast cancer at MdAnderson in November and December of 2007. The care was outstanding. I will not let one dishonest person sully my feelings for the hospital, but I will take them up on the one year of free credit monitoring.
Thank you,
