HPD's 'Keep Houston Safe' campaign moves into East Houston

HOUSTON--The Houston police chief and other law enforcement agents have announced the next phase of the Keep Houston Safe campaign.

The public safety campaign increases patrols in high-crime areas.

On Thursday, Chief Hurtt announced the initiative is targeting Houston's East Side.

The HPD mobile police station will crackdown on crime.

Officers will also educate people about what they can do to stay safe.
