Around 3 a.m., Oscar Orellana was arguing with his common-law wife, Marie Torres at their home in the 14100 block of Whispering Palms.
Deputies said Orellana shot her multiple times and then shot himself.
He died at the scene, but Torres was taken to the hospital. Deputies said she is expected to recover from her injuries.
