More than 100 illegal immigrants are in custody. They were picked up during a six day sweep of eight Texas cities. The immigration raids were part of Operation Community Shield. Authorities say that nearly half of the arrests were made in Houston. Other cities raided include Bryan, Conroe, Sugar Land, Richmond, Corpus Christi, Beaumont and Galveston. In all, federal, state and local agencies arrested 149 people. Nearly 70 of them are suspected gang members. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |
