Juan Carlos Aguilar approached the man with a handgun as he was exiting his vehicle in the 500 block of Yorkshire,police said. The victim was shot in the abdomen and was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

The suspect was also wounded by the victim, who at some point during the struggle was able to produce his own handgun and shoot Lopez once.

The victim found to have a valid concealed-handgun license.
