Police said the man tried to rob three women in a parking lot at 5900 Golf Course Driver at Hermann Park. The man fled on a bicycle when he got their money, however.
The women saw the officer and told them what happened. The officer saw the suspect at a water fountain, and when he gave him orders to detain him, the man tried to run.
During the struggle, the man allegedly grabbed for the officer's Taser, and that's when the officer shot him once in the leg.
He was taken to Ben Taub Hospital in stable condition.
