Houston police responded to the call of shots fired around 8:40 p.m. and found the victim.
A second man who was shot made it to a nearby apartment for help. He was transported to Ben Taub Hospital with two minor gunshot wounds and is expected to survive.
There are no descriptions of a suspect.

While police were on the scene, a car fire broke out in the parking lot. It was unrelated to the shooting.
