Police say he was trying to steal copper from an electrical power line. Authorities say the would-be copper thief, a man believed to be in his late 20s, fell 25 feet to his death. The fall came after climbing a utility pole in an attempt to steal copper wire. It happened near an abandoned warehouse near South Post Oak and Gasmer. Police say the man climbed up using his own harness but somehow, before he could cut the wire, he slipped and fell on his head. Authorities says there’s been a rash of copper thefts in Houston but nothing like this fatal attempt. 3 CommentsLeave a comment |
Why do you use term "Alleged"? He was a theif. He got what he deserved. Less taxayer money spent on jails.
Just in case you don't know, the media and most others use "Alleged" because of the Bill of Rights. Unless you were there and saw the man and a court agrees, he was allegedly attempting to steal. Hopefully, no one will ever accuse you of something without due process.
On march 2nd there was on your evening broadcast a brief report of a robbery with "clear" pictures of the suspect. The report however, never appears on the web site and I have'nt seen a follow-up report. I would like another look at those "clear" (as the reporter stated),surveilance photos. Thank you.
