A 41-year-old woman was charged with two counts of intoxicated manslaughter after an accident that killed a 37-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl.

The third passenger, a 17-year-old girl, was taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital.

She's in very critical condition.

Authorities say Veronica Damon was driving a Chevy Tahoe down the Highway 90 feeder in northeast Harris County when she ran a stop sign then broadsided a red Pontiac Sunfire carrying the three victims.

Damon overturned her Tahoe, but she did walk away unharmed from Tuesday afternoon's accident.

Police report Damon had a wine bottle in her vehicle at the time.

when will the senseless loss of life cease from this non-sense? As a victim of DWI..lost our daughtert in 2004 to a drunk driver, which left a grandson without a dad or mom. Something is wrong with a society that condones DWI fatalities, something is wrong with a system that doesn't make the punishment fit the crime, it is murder anyway you look at it, the only difference is one is a vehicle. Our hearts go out to the familys involved, because believe you me, the ones loosing the loved ones will not be the only familys suffering in the days, weeks, months, and years ahead for the ones left behind....Bob & Shirley Lester..Midland, Texas.

this is rediculous, i hope this woman suffers like all the people she has hurt suffer today and will continue to suffer for the days and months to come. this worthless waste of human flesh should have been the one to parish in this accident last week, not the 2 innocent victims whos lives have been ripped from them way too soon.
