Man arrested after half-hour chase

Houston police arrested a man after chasing him through neighborhood streets before his tires were completely ruined by spikes.

It started around 2 a.m. when an HPD officer running plates noticed that a Ford Explorer's came back stolen.
He tried to pull the SUV over near Washington and Silver, but the SUV took off, going through dozens of Fourth Ward streets and eventually up to Kirby.
The suspect jumped out of the SUV after its tires were blown out by spikes, running on foot until a K-9 unit caught up with him.
