Police: Two Houston teens disappear while throwing out the trash

Police are investigating the mysterious disappearance of two Houston teenagers.

They say that around 9 p.m. Thursday, a 15- and 16-year-old brother and sister left their home in the 3200 block of Ripplebrook and Bathhurst to throw out the trash.

Their mother said the teens never returned home. She said it was the last time she saw her children.

The children, Jose Lazo and his sister Beatriz, are both in school. Neither showed up for class today.

HPD homicide is now on the case, but police will not say if any foul play is involved.
