Dense Fog -- Severe Weather Awareness Week

A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued for St. Tammany Parish and coastal Mississippi until 9am Monday morning. Expect the possibility of patchy dense fog during your morning commute.

This week has been designated Severe Weather Awareness Week in both Louisiana and Missisippi. The following link will take you to the National Weather Service website.

Few More Clouds... Still a Nice Day...

Temperatures are already warming to the 70s in some locations across SE Louisiana this afternoon. A few more clouds will move into the area today.

As far as any weather hazards in the next 24 hours, there is the possibility of patchy dense fog for the Monday morning commute.

Otherwise, the next storm system moves in our direction Monday night into Tuesday.

More Sunny Weather... Warmer Sunday

Winds will shift to the East and Southeast overnight... allowing for warmer air to enter the picture on Sunday. A storm system traversing the country through the Midwest will bring a few more clouds to the forecast area on Sunday... but expect afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Just a gorgeous day for the reopening of the Art Market in Palmer Park this Saturday in Uptown New Orleans. But, definitely bring a sweater as temperatures will struggle to get into the 60s today. With a drier airmass in place as well, it definitely feels cooler than the last couple of days. Heavy Rain Over Metro Area

A line of thunderstorms and heavy rain has developed over the metro area. With a front stalled over SE Louisiana, and a moisture rich environment, showers could continue to develop along this line stretching from Slidell in the northshore, through New Orleans East down toward Houma.

Mild Sunday Evening

After a rough start this Sunday morning, the sun came out and temperatures warmed up to the 70s in some locations across SE Louisiana. It's a mild evening out there after a stormy night overnight Saturday into Sunday.

Rough Weather Continues Thru Midday

Thunderstorms continue to fire up ahead of a cold front that is bearing down on SE Lousiana. Drier air will filter in this afternoon... but through midday... we will continue to see isolated thunderstorms providing lightning, and the possibility of heavy rainfall. Most of the thunderstorms are developing East of Interstate 55.

For the most part Saturday, we'll have a pretty mild forecast... mostly cloudy skies, breezy with a 30% chance for isolated showers. Tonight, as a front and associated low pressure system makes its way across Texas and SE Lousiana, we do have a slight risk for severe weather in the overnight hours.

Monday.. parade forecast looks good. Temps in the 70s Monday night. The chance of showers is less than 10 percent. Tuesday.. Currently there is a 40% chance for showers and thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and evening. Most of the heavy activity should hold off until the overnight hours. Temperatures will be close to 80 degrees during the day Tuesday.

Bit of a concern for the Super Krewe of Bacchus rolling Sunday night. Currently there is a 50% chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms around 5:30 Sunday night. Most of the rain should be light to moderate, although we could see some isolated heavy downpours associated with an isolated thunderstorm.
