Expect windy and cold temperatures New Years Day, with temperatures in the 50s to 60 and wind chills in the 40s. Tempe... Overcast skies and cool temperatures for your Saturday forecast. Afternoon highs will struggle to reach 60 degrees. The chance of showers increases this evening to 80 percent across the area... the southshore has the best chance for locally heavy rainfall and strong winds from thunderstorms. Tomorrow, expect clearing in the afternoon and temperatures in the low 60s. On New Years day, it should be sunny with a high around 70. New Years... You can feel the temperatures dropping outside... a cool northerly wind is bringing colder air into the region. While temperatures topped out in the upper 70s, they've already dropped 20 degrees... and will fall about ten more degrees tonight before bottoming out in the 40s across the area. The National Hurricane Center is watching an area of disturbed weather East of Puerto Rico. A large trough over the western United States is creating chilly conditions for midwestern states over the next few days before it finally starts making the trek east... bring a cold front into Louisiana on Thursday. Expect warm temperatures until then. ...Well, it will seem cold Monday with a high of 62 and a cold northerly wind in comparison to the possible 83 degree mark that we will hit at New Orleans International Airport today. We've already tied the record set in 1982 of 82 degrees. Just to give you an idea of the temperature drop behind this front. Dallas is currently at 80 degrees right now, while Amarillo Texas is at 40 degrees! We won't see much rain with this front, overall a 30% cha... Temperatures will possibly be near record highs on Sunday with warm air moving in from the Southwest ahead of a cold front that will bear down on the region Sunday night. Cold artic air that has the Upper Midwest in the teens this Saturday afternoon will be making its way across the country dropping us back into the 50s by Monday evening. This weekend looks fairly tame as far as the weather is concerned. The only concern in the overnight hours... |
