Dawn Brown: November 2006 ArchivesWe saw a few puffy cumulus clouds today on the south shore, mainly just creating a more beautiful sunset tonight across SE Louisiana. The increase in clouds signals a return of gulf moisture, which will enhance our chances for patchy dense fog overnight. Also, temperatures on the north shore will be warmer the next few nights until a strong cold front moves through Thursday. Saints fans travelling to Atlanta tomorrow are in for a nice ... It's another beautiful day in SE Louisiana. Enjoy sunny skies and mild temperatures this Friday. Expect afternoon highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. Tonight, temperatures will be on the mild side on both the northshore and southshore with overnight lows in the 40s north of the lake and 50s south of the lake. It'll be a nice warm day in Little Rock where LSU Tigers v. Arkansas Razorbacks kickoff at 1:30 right here on WWL-TV. ...It's already shaping up to be a mild afternoon in regard to temperatures, with afternoon highs in the 60s, compared to 50s yesterday. This morning, temperatures dipped below freezing in many locations, but rebounded once the sun came up. Here's some of the morning lows across the area: Fans headed to the Superdome Sunday got the message to bundle up! With brisk northerly winds, it will feel colder than the actual temperature over the next few days. Folks north of Lake Pontchartrain will wake up to temperatures in the low 30s Monday and Tuesday morning with patchy frost developing overnight. Again, with brisk winds, it could feel like the 20s. No rain in the forecast leading up to Thanksgiving Day. There will... It's gorgeous out there this Saturday... a little cool for the start of the Walk the Beat 5K this morning... but nice and mild for the debut of the New Orleans Blues Festival at Lafayette Square Park this afternoon. Expect mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 60s. Tonight, we have a reinforcing front coming through, bringing cooler, drier air, but no rain in the forecast. Expect mostly clear, breezy and cool conditions. Bundl... A line of strong thunderstorms is moving toward the East toward Southern Mississppi and central and lower Plaquemines parish. These storms are producing locally heavy rainfall and dangerous lightning. Light to moderate rainfall will continue to fall across the metro area for the next hour to two hours. Expect mostly cloudy skies this afternoon, windy and cool conditions this afternoon and evening. Temperatures will fall from the 70s to... A flash flood warning has been issued for Livingston, St. Tammany and Tangipahoa parishes... including the cities of Mandeville, Covington and Hammond. Heavy rainfall associated with strong thunderstorms moving from southern Tangipahoa Parish into St. Tammany is likely to produce flash flooding... flooding of small creeks and streams and highways and underpasses through 10am. An additional two to four inches of rainfall is possible. Co... A large area of thunderstorms is currently moving into the metro area. Expect strong winds, dangerous lightning and locally heavy rainfall. When a tornado warning is issued, move to an interior room or hallway or the lowest position possible in your house. If you are in a FEMA trailer, you are encourage to move to a sturdier structure. For the latest warnings: It's a nice looking day, although temperatures will remain on the cool side, ranging from upper 50s to low 60s for high temperatures in the afternoon. Tonight, temperatures will once again fall to the upper 30s north of the lake, with upper 40s south of the lake.
