Strong Thunderstorms/Storm Report

Strong thunderstorms continuing to affect portions of northern Tangipahoa and Washintgon Parishes. A line of thunderstorms from Hattiesburg in South Mississippi to Baton Rouge is producing locally heavy rainfall, lightning, hail and strong winds.

These thunderstorms will continue to move NorthWest at about 15 mph.

The National Weather Service reports possible thunderstorm wind damage 7 miles east of Folsom in St. Tammany Paris...

Severe Thunderstorm Warning

The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Pearl River County Mississippi until 4:45 pm. Our doppler radar indicates this thunderstorm is threatening areas along US 59 from near Picayune to near Savannah.

A special marine warning has also been issued for Lake Pontchartrain.

Isolated thunderstorms develop in the metro area, bring locally heavy rainfall, lightning and gusty winds. A line of thunderstorms developing south of Lake Salvador moving toward Little Lake and Barataria Bay is a threat to mariners in that area.

Scattered thunderstorms will continue to develop toward the afternoon and evening.
