We have had some severe thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon. Golfball size hail was reported in Kiln, MS.
The threat of more thunderstorms continues the rest of this week and any one could become severe with small hail, frequent lightning, and heavy downpours.

As mentioned before, it doesn't matter how low the rain chance is, any thunderstorm can become strong when we have heat in the low to mid 90s.
On Tuesday afternoon, a thunderstorm over Metaire and Uptown produced small hail. Reports of pea size hail in Old Metairie, Uptown at Carrolton & Claiborne, and Carrolton & St Charles. 1.8" of rain was reported at Old Metairie.

The Louisiana Department of environmental quality is forecasting an OZONE ACTION DAY for Tuesday, June 24 in Orleans, Jefferson, St. Charles, St. John, St. Tammany and Plaquemines parishes. The weather conditions will be favorable for the formation of ozone.

Even though rain chances today are running around 10%, there will still be isolated thunderstorms around. With the heat in the low to mid 90s, if a thunderstorm develops, it could become strong with frequent lightning and a heavy downpour.
Monday afternoon a strong thunderstorm has produced street flooding at Barataria & Cousins streets. Small hail was reported in Harvey and Marrero.

Yesterday's heat added to the strength of thunderstorms causing them to become strong to severe.
Same expected today wtih low to mid 90s and spotty thunderstorms developing. Any one can become strong to severe.

Hot temperatures going into low to mid 90s aided in the strength of the thunderstorms. Flooding rains in St Charles parish and hail with some wind damage. Severe thunderstorms there and in Lafourche, Terrebonne, St John, and Plaquemines parishes today.

There were isolated thunderstorms around Monday and some were heavy with downpours and frequent lightning.
Spotty thunderstorms will again be around on Tuesday with rain chances around 30%. Again, this time of year, any thunderstorm can produce heavy rain, frequent lightning, and gusty winds.
Rain chances increases on Wednesday to 40% before some slightly drier air moves in for Thursday.

A better chance for rain on Saturday at 60%. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy downpours. Highs will be in the upper 80s.

An Urban Flood Advisory is in effect until 5pm for Orleans parish. Heavy rain of 2-3" has fallen and more could cause street flooding. Street flooding has been reported at Read and Haynes Blvd this afternoon.

Afternoon thunderstorms again popping up. Rain chance rest of this Tuesday afternoon 30%. Any thunderstorm can produce heavy downpours.
For Wednesday again around a 30% chance for thunderstorms with highs around 89.
For Thursday around a 40% chance for thunderstorms with highs around 88.
For Friday, 50% and highs around 87.
Rain chances increase Saturday & Sunday to 60%.
