The names Dean, Felix, and Noel, three of the most devastating storms of the 2007 Atlantic hurricane season, were retired by members of the 30th Session of the World Meteorological Organization's Regional Association IV Hurricane Committee during its annual meeting in Orlando, Fla.

Mostly Dry and Mostly Hot
Little to no rain chance through Weekend with large upper high over us. Rain chances are less than 10% so we are not really including the chance. There may be one shower or thunderstorm popping up, but not enough to warrant a 10%. Highs will be in the 90 to lower 90 degree range.

It will feel like summer with highs in the upper 80s to around 90 and only isolated afternoon showers or thunderstorms. A reminder that any thunderstorm with the amount of moisture in the atmosphere and the heat that we get in the afternoon can become strong with heavy downpours and lots of lightning.

A summer like weekend with a few afternoon thunderstorms and plenty of humidity.
Saturday & Sunday: Clouds & sunshine, hot, and humid with a 10% chance for isolated afternoon thunderstorms. Lows mid 70s and highs around 91, but it may feel like upper 90s.

Rain continues this afternoon, mainly from a line from Slidell to Laplace and southward. This should be around through early evening then start to move out.
Slightly cooler overnight with lows north of the lake in the mid to upper 50s and south of the lake in the low to mid 60s.
Clouds & Sunshine on Saturday with only a 10% chance for a shower. Highs in the upper 70s.

Rainfall estimates up to 15" north of the lake has prompted river flood warnings for the Northshore. A viewer reported 10.24" in Folsom and a call from Loranger was 22.5".

We have had some severe thunderstorm warnings and even a tornado warning for N St Tammany and SW Washington parishes. Hail was reported west of Folsom this afternoon in Tangipahoa parish and a tornado east of Livingston parish near I-10 near the Holden exit.

Thursday escaped the rain clouds, but Friday and Saturday may not. Rain chances high on Friday at 50% for scattered showers and thunderstorsm..especially in the afternoon and evening. On Saturday, the chance for rain is 60%..especially in the morning and afternoon. Both days, the thunderstorms have a chance to be strong with heavy downpours.
A front may take longer to move through so there is also a 30% chance for spotty show...
