The threat for heavy rain is diminishing. City Park reported 3.90" of rain with over 2" in French Quarter. Some street flooding was reported. Radar estimates are as high as 5" in New Orleans East.

Great Weather. Low humidity for Saturday with morning lows in 40's/50's north of the lake and 50's/60's south of the lake. Highs around lower 80's.
A little more humidity for Sunday, but still nice. 50's/60's for lows and mid 80's for highs.

At 9pm, rain is tapering off across Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes. Drier air will move in overnight. A nice start to Thursday with upper 50's/low 60's and 60's south of the lake with low humidity. It will turn breezy also.

At 5:45pm, heavy thunderstorms are moving through lower Plaquemines parish. A second line with the front extends from Pearl River county to Mandeville to Donaldsonville. This line will be affecting the southshore of Jefferson parish westward during the 6pm hour.

AT 2:45pm, a broken line of thunderstorms..some strong extends from south of Bay St Louis to Slidell to St Charles parish to Thibodaux. Not everyone may get rain from this line since it is broken.

A severe thunderstorm has produced golfball size hail just west of Gulfport, around Kiln, and in Poplarville. A funnel cloud reported on Hwy 11 north of McNeil. This storm is moving through Pearl River county.

It is not uncommon to have early named storms, either tropical or subtropical. We have had early ones in 2003, 1997, 1992, and 1981.
