Breezy, Warm, and Humid for the next couple of days. Above our average of 60 for a low in the morning and 79 in the afternoon. Around 70 in the morning and low to mid 80's in afternoon. Rain chances increase through Thursday.

This Sunday April 22nd from 8-10pm, weather permitting, the Pontchartrain Astronomy Society will have telescopes set up at Bayou Segnette State Park. It is located at the west end of the West Bank Expressway at 7777 Westbank Expressway, Westwego. Admission is $1 to the State Park.

After midnight tonight, there is a chance for a few showers or isolated thunderstorms to move through. These could be around for morning drive on Wednesday. The chance for a lingering shower behind the cool front could last until noon time. Morning lows will be in the upper 50's north to lower 60's south of the lake. Highs will be in the 70's again.

Nice dry stretch of weather Thursday through weekend.

You may have heard me mentionn on the air a few times that it is best to wait until after Easter to plant. Historically, we can have a freeze as late as the 1st week in April. The latest freeze was April 8th, 1971 at Armstrong Int'l Airport. Now I'm not expecting a freeze on the southshore, but north of the lake will see 30's over the weekend, but on Monday morning there may be frost or even a light freeze in some spots.

With today's front passing through, you can feel the difference already in the wind, temperatures, and humidity levels. For the next few nights north of the lake, it will be in the 40's and south of the lake in the 50's then 40's. Light jackets and sweaters will need to be taken out again. Highs in the 60's through Saturday.
