A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for Ascension, Livingston, St Helena, Tangipahoa, and Washington parishes through Friday morning. The Baton Rouge area is also included. Mississippi counties are Amite, Pike, Walthall, and Wilkinson. Widespread rain of 2-3" is anticipated with some places picking up heavier amounts overnight and Friday morning. Record lows possible for Tuesday morning. Lows are expected to drop to the 40's south of the lake and upper 30's north of the lake. Jackets will be needed for Tuesday morning.

Well it looks like rain chances go up on Saturday now. A warm front will move back north and may bring a 20% chance for a morning shower along the coast and 50% chance for scattered showers or thunderstorms during the afternoon & evening. Highs will be in the upper 70's.
Saturday night/early Sunday morning will bring our next front with a 60% chance for showers or thunderstorms..some may be heavy.
Sunday will see a 50%...

The front has passed and slightly cooler and drier air will move in for Friday. A nice fall day with morning lows in the upper 50's north of the lake around low 60's south of the lake. Highs in the lower 70's.

The line of thunderstorms has cleared the Mississippi Coast and extends east of Delacroix to Myrtle Grove to Cut Off to near Cocodrie. No other severe weather has been reported since the wind damage in Pearl River county around mid day.
Light to moderate rain continues behind the line from Pearl River county to St Tammany parish to the River Parishes.

A 2pm, the line of thunderstorms has cleared the northshore and is located in New Orleans to to Houma. The Tornado watch is no longer in effect north of the lake. There may still be brief heavy rain and strong gusty winds from New Orleans to the coast for the next hour.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued from Jackson county MS eastward through Alabama.

The threat for Severe Thunderstorms is over for today. A small chance for a lingering morning shower with warm afternoon highs in the mid to upper 80's.
Mostly dry and hot for Wednesday. Another system brings the rain chances up again for Thursday.

A large upper level high pressure system is the reason we are so hot and dry. It isn't unusual to be dry this time of year. October is our driest month with roughly 3" as an average for the month. This large upper level high is causing the warmer than normal temperatures and keeping the cool air to our west and east. Hot, Hazy, and Humid conditions will continue this week.
