Clouds will thicken up and humidity will increase today as a system glides in from the west. Most spots should remain dry, though, for the lion's share of the day. The exceptions will be the coastline, where some showers have already developed, and about a 20% chance of a passing shower or sprinkle area-wide this afternoon. Finally, tonight, the system should come close enough that we'll put a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast. We'll take that to a 70% chance of rain and storms Tuesday as the system passes through. Generally, due to the southerly track of the storm, though, the threat of severe weather should be limited, with best chance of any real rowdy weather remaining across the Gulf, and perhaps, up against the coastline. The storm should move east Wednesday, leaving behind clouds, warmth, and humidity. Yet another chance of rain will arrive late-week as a cold front moves in. The tropics, now heading into the late-season, remain quiet. |
