October 2009 ArchivesAutumn finally will be taking a stand as we head into November. After a good-looking Halloween, we'll continue with sunshine and dry, mainly sunny, pleasantly mild afternoons with highs reaching back in the 60's and 70's, along with overnights with seasonably chilly lows in the 40's and 50's over the next few days. Finally, the area of high pressure providing the beautiful weather will shift east for the end of the week and into next weekend...
For Trick or Treaters, clear skes, cool, and low humidity. Temperatures starting in low 60s and falling into 50s. Set clocks back 1 hours late Saturday night or early Sunday morning. Also a good time this weekend to check your batteries in your smoke detectors. Chilly Sunday mornin... A line of heavy showers is progressing across Louisiana today, and will bring rain to SE LA by this afternoon and evening. Expect some heavy rain through the overnight hours, and then gradual clearing for Halloween. It will be much cooler for All Hallow's Eve as well...temps in the 50s and 60s for trick or treaters!!! ...

After dense fog this morning and some sunshine for the midday hours, we'll see warmer, more humid Gulf Of Mexico air stream in for later today, bringing both clouds and humidity. In fact, showers and thunderstorms could return as early as tonight and tomorrow. By your Wednesday night, we'll include about a 40% chance of scattered rain and storms. That should last through early afternoon Thursday, as highs soar back into the sticky middle 80...

This will be our latest front to move through. The moisture will be provided by Hurricane Rick in the Pacific. The weather is just delightful today, as blue skies and mild temperatures reign over the city. Highs today will be around 70, with a light east wind. Tonight will be chilly again, with 40s and 50s around the region, but then we'll warm up to the mid 70s. Next batch of rain will be on Thursday and Friday, as a front moves in. Look for this line of storms to reach the area between 6 and 10pm, possible bringing heavy rain, strong winds, lightning and hail.
