As a stagnant area of high pressure remains nearby over the next couple of days, high heat and humidity will continue. Heat indicies will be as high as 100 to 110 degrees through the workweek, putting us in the danger zone and under a Heat Advisory through Monday evening. Actual highs will generally range in the middle and upper 90's, near-record heat for this time of year. We actually even stand a chance of touching the century-mark at the airport on Tuesday and Wednesday. If we do, it would be the first time we did so in June since 1954 and only the second time in our official weather records that we hit 100 in June. In any case, you'll certainly need to slow it down, limit strenuous activities, and drink plenty of fluids over the next few days. |
