At Midnight, north of the lake temperature around 40 and south of the lake around 48. With still breezy conditions, it will feel colder.
Around midnight tonight, the latest forecast calls for temperatures close to 37 on the northshore and 46 south of the lake, including the metro. Northeast winds ranging between 8 and 15 mph will make it feel more like the upper 30's and lower 40's in the city for New Year's festivities around the midnight hour. A cold front will swing through Tuesday night, meaning continued rain-free conditions and a return to cooler weather for the last day of 2008. For the New Year's Eve festivities, Wednesday night, temperatures will sink into the 30's to around 40 on the northshore, and to the 40's to around 50 south of the Lake. Whew! What a cold blast of Arctic air...temperatures this morning were in the 20s on the Northshore and 30s on Southshore. The Eastern half of the country continues to be hit by cold Canadian air...and highs today will only be in the 50s.
