Not a whole lot of new developments on the tropical front this morning...Bertha is still pulling away from Bermuda...and the tropical waves in the Atlantic haven't organized overnight. Since Bertha is moving away from Bermuda and out into the Atlantic, we'll spend a little more time on the Atlantic tropical waves. The first wave is in the Caribbean Sea, moving westward. There hasn't been any development with this disorganized system, and any development would be slow to occur. In the Atlantic, two waves are back-to-back and about 1000 miles east of the Lesser Antilles. Both of these waves have the potential to develop, although they haven't shown signs of this in the past 24 hours. Conditions are favorable as they move west into the Caribbean Sea, so we'll be closely watching this area. |
