Category 1 Hurricane Dolly continues its trek over the waters of the southern Gulf of Mexico this evening to the northwest at 11 mph. High pressure anchored over the Central and Eastern Gulf Coast will keep our area protected from any direct effects of the storm. The worst we should see is increased cloud cover, a few extra showers and thunderstorms, and somewhat cooler afternoon high temperatures into the midweek. Farther south, into southern Texas and northern Mexico, we expect a midday Wednesday landfall of a Category 1 hurricane with winds around 90 mph. |
