The 10 P.M. advisory from the National Hurricane Center still pins Bertha as a Category 1 hurricane with sustained winds continuing at 75 mph. The storm also continues to sit stationary southeast of Bermuda, but is expected to slowly start moving toward the north once again on Sunday and Monday, scraping just to the southeast and east of the island through the early week. Meantime, Bermuda will receive high swells and surf and perhaps 2 to 4 inches of rain over the next couple of days. The storm should maintain its strength in the near-term, but should begin to weaken into next week as it makes a move back away from any land into the Central Atlantic. More advisories to come on Sunday. |
