Under this persistent high pressure system, the heat has been building each afternoon. That pattern will continue through the weekend, so be prepared for more 90s with very little rain. The models do show a shift in the pattern by the middle of next week, when more Gulf moisture will stream Northward and give us better daily rain chances.

Right now the tropics are quiet, and look to stay that way for the next few days.
