The Timing of the Storms

7:30 AM Fri, Apr 11, 2008 |

A lot of important events and festivals this weekend. The good news is the forecast this weekend lookS great -- once we get past Friday. Lots of moisture and warm temperatures this afternoon will allow isolated thunderstorms to develop. This means you could have a heavy thunderstorm develop in your neighborhood... but 10 miles down the road... you'll be fine. However, around 7pm tonight, it looks like the activity could get a little heavier as the front approaches and provides the necessary uplift to develop a line of showers and/or thunderstorms ahead of the front.

Two difference between this Friday's event and last Friday. First, it doesn't appear that we are going to see the heavy downpours we saw last week. Secondly, although, there is the possibility of strong winds and some isolated spots with heavy rain, the expectation for tornadoes is limited.
