Urban Flood Advisory/MS River

An Urban Flood Advisory is in effect until 4:30am for St Charles, Jefferson, Orleans, St Tammy parishes and Hancock county. Some places have picked up 2-4" of rain and an additional 2-4" is possible causing street flooding.

Rain should be over by 9am or noon at the latest. Less humid air for Saturday afternoon with highs in the mid 70s.

Sunday morning will be slightly cooler north of the lake in the mid 50s and south of the lake in the low 60s. Sunday highs in the upper 70s with a 20% chance for a shower or thunderstorm.

The Mississippi river now forecasted to crest at flood stage 17' on April 16. Crest dates have been pushed back to 16th. The levees protect the city up to a stage of 20'
