After near-record warmth on Lundi Gras, yet another warm one is on the way for Mardi Gras. Highs will easily reach into the 70's to near 80 on Tuesday as warm southerly winds continue to plow humidity and unseasonable temperatures our way. Records in jeopardy tomorrow include a record high of 79 at the airport and 81 at Audubon. Generally, Tuesday's forecast during the day is looking mainly dry, but as a cold front approaches during the late-day, we could introduce our first chance of showers and thunderstorms. The best bet for rain, though, appears to arrive after sunset on Tuesday, after most of the revelries are over, when we could see a round of showers and thunderstorms. These should move out by noon on Wednesday, leaving behind sunshine and 60's all the way into the weekend. |
