A tornado watch has been issued for all of the Southshore until 11am today. Strong storms are moving onshore, and there is potential for damaging winds and isolated tornadoes. Some damage reports from this afternoon's storms include dime-sized hail and a tornado touchdown in an empty field in Myrtle Grove in Plaquemines Parish, 1/2" hail in Hammond, and power outages in Tickfaw. ...After a couple of tornado warnings earlier in the day, things are really sparking up again. A tornado warning is in effect through 1:45 PM in St. Bernard, Plaqueminnes, St. Helena, and Tangipahoa Parishes. Make sure you are in a sturdy building away from windows if you are under a warning.
