Tailgaters may experience periods of heavy rain for the Saints home opener. Currently, there is an 80 percent chance of showers Monday afternoon. Right now, showers have let up a little bit on this Sunday evening, but the moisture continues to pile up in the central Gulf.
Today, rainfall totals ran anywhere from an 1.50 in Chalmette to .12 inches at New Orleans International. The latest on Tropical Storm Jerry, located in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, no threat to land: AT 1100 PM THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM JERRY WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 37.4 NORTH...LONGITUDE 46.1 WEST OR ABOUT 1045 JERRY IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH NEAR 8 MPH AND A MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 40 MPH WITH HIGHER TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 105 MILES FROM THE CENTER. ESTIMATED MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS 1004 MB...29.65 INCHES. REPEATING THE 1100 PM AST POSITION...37.4 N...46.1 W. MOVEMENT THE NEXT ADVISORY WILL BE ISSUED BY THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER AT 500 AM. |
