This morning, not much has changed with the disturbance around the Bahamas. Models are still fairly widespread, but this disturbance needs to be monitored by those living along the Gulf Coast. The area is still fairly disorganized, with an upper level low over SW Florida, and somewhat of a low level "center" trying to form east of Miami. That is expected to be the developing warm core, but it still has to travel over Florida before it could strengthen. Right now the models do forecast a Tropical Storm in the NE Gulf by Friday. If the track shows Louisiana for landfall, we could be facing tropical storm force winds by Saturday. Again, there is a lot of uncertainty, given the fact that this isn't even a storm yet. Keep a close eye on this one, and we'll know much more by Thursday. |
