T.S. Chantal in Atlantic--No Threat to U.S.

TD #3 has been upgraded to T.S. Chantal as of 7:15 this morning. Max sustained winds are at 40 mph, and Chantal is still moving AWAY from the U.S. at 21 mph.

There is another wave in the Central Atlantic that bears some watching over the next few days. This wave has the potential to become a TD or TS (in which case it would be "Dean")

Now, this "potential storm" is AT LEAST 8-10 days from entering the Gulf, IF IT EVEN HOLDS UP THAT LONG. I am trying to stress the point that a million factors will come into play before this wave could even survive enough to make it to the Gulf. Most of the models this morning weren't even picking up on it. So, it needs to be watched, but that is it.

We will know much more in the coming days, and we'll continue to update you on the latest here on the web and the Eyewitness News.
