Sunday will see a few more scattered showers or thunderstorms.

The atmosphere were are in now can produce funnel clouds and waterspouts. A waterspout was reported yesterday NW of the Kenner area over the Lake. Funnel clouds were reported at 1:45pm over the Kenner/Metairie area this afternoon.

Once again this afternoon, thunderstorm activity is spotty as some slightly drier air is moving in. Rain chances around 30% at best rest of today, Friday, and Saturday.

A front will get close Sunday through Wednesday and give better chances for afternoon thunderstorms.

A mid and high level cloud deck didn't allow the heating needed for afternoon thunderstorms on Tuesday. A couple of late day thunderstorms did develop near Sun/Bush and around the Baton Rouge area.

Wednesday will see a few afternoon showers and thunderstorms.

Dew points still around 70 degrees on Wednesday left it feeling still humid. Overnight and on Thursday the dew points will drop into the 60's so it will feel "Not as Humid". It won't last long because by the weekend, humidity will be back in full force.

After a day with several warnings, many reports of hail, and frequent lightning, wind damage occurred in Slidell on Airport Rd and in Covington. Unfortunately, a St Tammany Sheriff's Deputy was killed when a tree fell on his patrol car.

Thunderstorms on Thursday can become strong to severe again with hail and damaging winds.

Today Armstrong Int'l reached 96 degrees for a new record high. Old record was 95 set in 1977. Audubon also had a new record high of 97 degrees. Old record was 96 also in 1977.

Records for Tuesday are 96 at Armstrong and 99 at Audubon.
