In his last post, Chief Meteorologist Carl Arredondo mentioned the best time to plant to avoid a freeze is the week AFTER Easter. According to records at Armstrong International Airport, the latest freeze on record is April 8, 1971.
We're not expecting a freeze on the southshore Saturday night, but Easter morning, temperatures on the northshore could be in the mid 20s.

Coupled with that, we are expecting rain to move in Saturday night into Sunday, making for a messy mix Easter Sunday.

WWL-TV's Weather Team will be following this more closely tonight and Saturday to see if there is chance for a wintry mix Sunday morning.
