Weather Quieting Down

4:15 AM Thu, Mar 15, 2007 |

After a handful of severe thunderstorm warnings overnight...the weather is calming down this morning. The main line of thunderstorms is out to the east, affecting mainly the Gulf and the Mississippi coast. Rain will still be an issue for the next few hours, as scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms continue to develop behind the line.
We are still under a Flash Flood Watch through 1pm today.
Look for rain through the morning commute, then the rain should start tapering off after that. The severe threat should diminish as well, so look for calmer weather through your Thursday.

Here are some rain totals so far (as of 4:30am)
WWL-TV Studios (French Quarter) .70
Metairie .96
Hammond 1.00
Slidell .42
Houma 1.26
Thibodaux .99
