Storm Reports/TORNADO WATCH

3:45 AM Tue, Feb 13, 2007 |

Early this morning, we have been watching some strong storms out ahead of a cold front. Some of these cells have had rotation, and several tornado warnings have been issued throughout the morning. A Tornado Watch is still in effect until 6am for all of SE Louisiana.

A viewer in Metairie called in a report of pea size hail around I-10 and Bonnabel.
We have had reports of tornado-like damage in Westwego, with several mobile homes destroyed. Also some reports of damage in Mid-city and the Carollton area in New Orleans. Power is out in those areas as well.
If you have a storm report, you can email me at lbuchtel@wwltv.com and let us know.

There is a report of an uncomfirmed tornado in Lafayette earlier this morning, so these storms have had a history of producing damage. Watch Jeremy Eisenzopf on Channel 4, or check back with wwltv.com through the morning for updates. You can also check My Radar and Pinpoint radar for the latest information.
