As those temperatures warm, moisture will increase from the gulf over the next few days. A strong storm system will be developing while moving eastward towards the southern plains today and Friday.

Strong storms and heavy rain will be moving from parts of Texas into Louisiana beginning Friday night. Much of the heavy rain will arrive during the day on Saturday, with the possibility of strong to severe storms.

We will watch this system closely, as there could be additional changes on the timing and intensity.
